This one is just right, not too heavy, not too big, loads of tone, great neck. I do not find that they hold tune all that well and I was retuning regularly, even considering that the guitar had the factory strings on it and had been hanging and played for a while. I will not play bullshit bingo by using either “iconic” or “authentic” in my article, I will leave that shovelling to the Gibson talking head(s), but the idea is a simple guitar like in the olden days. Single coils are typically noisy. The action was a little high for my preference, but the set up wasn't too bad, still plays great, very fast neck...the neck is straight as an arrow. Bridge and neck are both useful,no problems with any controls,the wood even looks great. With the amplifier set for a clean tone, gain way down, master up, tone and reverb at noon, the guitar is bright and sparkling in the bridge, less so in the middle position and still bright but more subtle in the neck position. I got the Satin Blue, and it is exactly as advertised. At this this price, having this guitar in my collection is a crazy good deal. Even with that said, I still consider myself an intermediate level player because of the number of incredible guitarist out there.
